The singer hosted a Twitter Spaces on Thursday, during which she opened up about her experience being homebound following an accident.

The “I Like It” singer shared that she was pregnant in a carousel posted to her Instagram last week. The news came after she filed for divorce from Migos rapper Offset for the third time. In her Twitter Spaces, Cardi explained that the freak accident almost “cost me my little one to come, but it didn’t.”
She continued, saying that she felt good on Wednesday after being in the hospital because she was “high as a kite” on morphine the doctors gave her. On Thursday, she woke up sober and in a lot of pain. She noted that if she was still in pain after the Spaces, she would go to the hospital and try to get more medication.
“I don’t give a fuck. I’m gonna exaggerate this shit so I get more morphine. Morphine me down. I don’t give a damn,” Cardi said. “This is why people be addicted to drugs because I ain’t gonna lie to you, when them motherfuckers were shooting that morphine into me, every four hours, I was waiting for my shit.”
The singer is expecting her third child with her soon-to-be ex-husband. The couple, who got married in 2017, have a 6-year-old daughter named Kulture and a 2-year-old son named Wave.
In Cardi’s post announcing her pregnancy, she seemingly addressed the impending divorce, writing, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!”
She continued, “Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
