Ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Wolfs is getting a sequel.
Jon Watts has a deal with Apple to write and direct a follow-up to his movie that stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney as fixers who accidentally end up working the same job. It is unclear if deals for Clooney and Pitt to return are done.
A part of the news of the sequel, Apple announced that the movie would be getting a Sept. 27 release on Apple TV+, coming after its Sept. 20 limited theatrical release via Sony. It previously was expected to get a wide release.
Wolfs, which is produced by Clooney’s Smokehouse and Pitt’s Plan B, also stars Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind and Zlatko Burić. Watts, McGunigle produce, alongside Clooney, Grant Heslov, Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Michael Beugg executive produces.
Pitt is set to appear in another Apple title, F1, from director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Other recent and upcoming Apple titles include the Matt Damon starring Doug Liman movie The Instigators, which recently hit theaters, and Steve McQueen-directed WWII drama Blitz.
Watts is best known for directing the most recent Spider-Man trilogy for Sony, with the last film, No Way Home, shattering box office records on its way to $1.9 billion at the global box office.
